My Approach

I focus on methods that help clients reach expanded states of consciousness for healing and growth. These include a body-centered method of guided self-discovery called Hakomi, as well as embodied movement, mindfulness, bodywork, sound, and ritual.

Together we will identify old patterns and beliefs. We’ll gently make contact with trauma material and explore wounded or suppressed parts of the psyche. We’ll find ways to cultivate a deeper connection with your own body and emotions.

Why expanded states?

Expanded states of consciousness (ESCs) have always been used by humans as means of growth, healing, and connection. Through these states, we learn to connect with all the unconscious parts of ourselves, with other humans, and with the earth. We see the connections between all things and begin to access a more expanded awareness of our mind, body, spirit, community, and environment.

Body-based approaches

Working with the body is key to healing and growth. With more awareness of what is happening in the body, the conscious and unconscious minds begin to align, and the barrier between them gets thinner. This allows for deep understanding of the inner world of the client. Hakomi is a body-based approach to self-discovery that focuses on the present moment sensations, thoughts, emotions, and other content that arises as the client slows down. It allows us to map the inner world and the core beliefs that unconsciously drive behavior. By combining this guided self-discovery with movement, bodywork, and breath, we move toward greater understanding. Awareness of unconscious patterns and their origins creates a shift in how the client sees their own self and how it relates to the world.
